Arun Majumdar
American materials scientist, engineer and professor
Arunava Majumdar is a materials scientist, engineer, and the inaugural dean of the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability.[1][2] He was nominated for the position of Under Secretary of Energy in the United States between November 30, 2011, and May 15, 2012.[3][4]
Majumdar was previously the director of the Environmental Energy Technologies Division at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), where he was also deputy director of LBNL as well as professor of mechanical engineering at the University of California, Berkeley.
Majumdar was nominated[5] to be the first director of the U.S. Department of Energy's Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) and appointed to that position in September 2009.
